
Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises ( MSMEs) Forum Uganda.
In 2017 the UN General Assembly designated June 27th as “Micro-Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Day” .The day aims to recognize these enterprises’ as the most significant contributors to local, regional and global economies and to raise public awareness of their contribution to sustainable development, and the realization of sustainable Development Goals.
In line with the above, Uganda marked this day with a blend of activities one of which was the MSMEs Conference organised by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives in collaboration with USAID funded Feed the Future – Uganda, Institutional and Systems Strengthening Activity; and the MSMEs. The Day’s theme was ” Unlocking the Potential of Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises ( MSMEs) for the post COVID-19 Recovery”.At the conference the MSMEs Forum Uganda was launched.
The official launch was presided over by the Minister of State for Trade, Industry and Co-operatives – Honorable David Bahati and the UNDP Representative for Uganda – H.E . Elsie Attafuah .



Water Governance Institute (WGI) was recognized as a founding member organisation for the MSMEs Forum Uganda and was represented at the event by the WGI team led by the Executive Director Mr. Henry Bazira.
Also present were Madam Peace Mukungu and Mr. David Semukasa some of the beneficiaries of the WGI Aquaponics project which was supported through Securing Water For Food (SWFF), a global program supported by USAID. More beneficiaries supported through the fund are to be assimilated in the MSMEs Forum and registration is on going. WGI participated in the forum through it’s investment arm Water Governance Enterprises ( WGE).
